For more than 91 years, Princeton’s Liquors has built its reputation on exceptional service and a passion for fine products. What began in 1926 as a small tavern and restaurant has grown into a trusted, family-run destination for beer, wine, and spirits in Maple Grove and the surrounding communities. Three generations later, the Princeton family continues to uphold their legacy—offering friendly expertise, local roots, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit feel like home.

In 1966 the family, including son Joel, expanded. Building an off-sale store next to the tavern.

This location would become the first Princeton’s Liquor Store in the Maple Grove area. With the passing of William and Cora the store was in the ambitious hands of Joel, his goal: successfully continue the family business.

October of 1979 marked an important step for Princeton’s. Joel, along with his wife Susan and their three children Kim, Kelli, and Bill opened a second store in Maple Grove. Over the last few years, Bill along with Kelli’s husband Nick have become active in the family trade and represent the third generation of Princeton's to run the business.


It has been 7 decades since the doors opened. Since then the chain has steadily grown and offers an extensive line of wine, beer, and spirits. Stop in to see us, be apart of a long tradition in the Maple Grove area.

Joel and Sue Princeton have owned and operated Princeton’s Liquors for almost 40 years. Their dedication to the community shows, their goal is to create an enjoyable shopping experience each and every time you shop at Princeton’s Liquors.


Today, Bill is the majority owner of Princeton's Liquors, working alongside his sisters, Kim and Kelli, to continue the family's legacy and commitment to the business. While both Joel and Sue have passed, their passion for the store and the community lives on through their children, who work hard every day to honor that legacy.
